Actress Juliet Ibrahim set the internet on fire last week when comments about her on the major social media networks trended from Thursday till the weekend.

This was during and after the 2015 Glo Confederation of African Football (CAF) Awards held at the Abuja International Conference Centre, Abuja, Nigeria last Thursday.

The internet literally caught fire when Ibrahim appeared on stage in her long dress with side cut and a side pattern of gold as co-host for the night, alongside SuperSport presenter, Robert Marawa.

That dress, by award-winning stylist Jeremiah Ogbodo (popularly known as Swanky Jerry) of Swanky’s Signatures Styling, was as resplendent as the delectable Ibrahim wearing it and the internet just could not handle the beauty on stage.

“Confession time: I have a crush on Juliet Ibrahim, very cute. Her hips na next rated. #GloCAFAwards2015” said one tweeter who tweets with the handle @sportingshina, to sum up the feeling of many viewers of the event across the continent.

Besides speaking about her beautiful dress, others also spoke about her beautiful and well styled hair and very well made make-up for the night. “The hair. The make-up. The gown. The body… Juliet Ibrahim’s FIRST LOOK to the #GloCAFAwards2015 100 100” tweeted @StardotNG.

The annual Glo CAF Awards brings together some of the big names in African football, politics and entertainment as well as showcasing the best in African music performances with some of the top rated African performers showing their prowess on stage.

Vying for the biggest award on the night, African Footballer of the Year were Ivorian Yaya Toure (Manchester City), Ghanaian Andre Ayew (Swansea City) and Gabonese Pirre-Emerick Aubameyang (Borussia Dortmund).

Aubameyang was presented with the African Footballer of the Year award ahead of Yaya Toure and Andre Ayew. The two West African colleagues and their fans were devastated.

At the event last Thursday, some of the top acts who entertained the guests and VIPs included Salif Keita and Grammy award winning Ladysmith Black Mambazo from South Africa.

The impressive line-up also included Congolese icon, Awilo Longomba, Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale, Moroccan Ahmed Soultan, Nigerians King Sunny Ade, Dija, Korede Bello, Flavour, Omawumi, Bez, Ego and D’banj. All these performers brought on their A game and performed greatly for the audience.

If she had won the internet with her black dress, Juliet was not going to relent and lose the momentum she had created. Both she and Marawa went to change their outfits and when she came back she seemed to have taken the dress thing a notch higher.

This time round she was wearing a long flowing ball gown that made her look as resplendent as she was in the earlier dress and also as breathtaking, designed by Jay Becks Bridals.

In spite of the great musical performances, the announcement of winners and losers at the event, the many glitterati that had turned up to grace the occasion, Juliet Ibrahim’s outfits got the most attention during most part of the show aired across Africa on SuperSport and other local broadcast channels.

The internet was left confused as commenters could not decide which of the two dresses worn by Juliet on the night was more beautiful. At the end most concluded that the actress had served “double glam” to guests and viewers.

It was not only her hair style, make-up and dresses that won Juliet Ibrahim many admirers on the night. Her impeccable delivery of French mixed with English to compliment Robert Marawa on the stage won her great admiration on the night.

“#GloCAFAwards2015 Shatta Wale came to perform wow I’m impressed and Juliet Ibrahim has made my night rocking her dress killing the French”, tweeted @kay_lexizz.
