DStv and Nickelodeon have launched two new channels- Nick Junior and Nick Toons on channel 307 and 308 respectively. Although the channels were launched officially on the 30th of September, the Nick Fun Day was scheduled to allow guardians and children have the chance to ask questions about the channels.
As part of celebrations to encourage consumption of the new channels by the Ghanaian public, Nickelodeon Africa brought in Dora and SpongeBob, two of every child’s favorite cartoon characters to Ghana. The fair was help at Crystal Park east Legon on Saturday 22nd November 2014.
Dora the Explorer and SpongeBob Square pants thrilled both adults and kids with energetic performances. There were several activities with prizes for both adult and kids. Some of the activities were, bouncy castle, trampoline, a ball pool, Pin the Donkey’s Tail, face painting, lucky deep, a raffle draw and a lot more. A customer service center was also set up to help with any of our services as well as our GOtv & Explora tents to enjoy the experience along with an African Magic Tent, & SuperSport tent for our soccer fans.
Dora and SpongeBob also took time to meet, greet and take photos with numerous kids. Celebrity parents Caroline Sampson and Jayso were present with their kids to have the nickelodeon experience.
At the end of the day, several DStv and Nickelodeon souvenirs were given to both children and adults while four lucky winners won free DStv decoders during the raffle.

Decoder swop exercise ends 30th November 2014
This is reminder to all DStv subscribers with decoder models: DSD 910’s, DSD 933, DSD 990’s and MC DSD, Dual View, who have not yet exchanged their old decoders for new ones that you have till 30th November 2014 to swop out your decoders. SDPVR decoders have up until 28th February 2015. Terms and conditions apply.
Subscribers who fail to exchange their decoders by the 30 November 2014 deadline will experience a loss in their DStv signal. They will also not be entitled to a free exchange and will have to pay for the full retail price of GHC281 for a new standard decoder (box only) in order to continue accessing DStv services.
MultiChoice therefore encourages any affected subscribers to come to our offices and take advantage of the exchange before the deadline expires. Subscribers must be active from 1st Aug – Sept 15th 2014 to qualify for the swop.
